What is Red Light Therapy?

Red light therapy is a safe, non-invasive, natural treatment that gives cells the boost they need to perform at their best. Red and near-infrared wavelengths from a light therapy device stimulate mitochondria. Science has proven that these wavelengths of light cause your mitochondria to produce more energy, in the form of ATP (Adenosine triphosphate). ATP provides the fuel that each cell needs to perform all its functions, including regeneration, healing & collagen production.

Red light therapy works by acting on the “power plant” in your body’s cells called mitochondria. With more energy, other cells can do their work more efficiently, doing things like repairing skin, boosting new cell growth and enhancing skin rejuvenation. More specifically, certain cells absorb light wavelengths and are stimulated to work.

Red light therapy may work in skin health to:

• Increase fibroblast production, which makes collagen. Collagen is a component of connective tissue that builds skin.
